I graduated from Portland's East West College of the Healing Arts in 1996 and have been working full time as a practicing massage therapist ever since. In a profession that often suffers from early burnout, it is truly a privilege and joy to still be offering this work after 26 years. I have worked in chiropractic and Chinese medicine clinics, numerous senior care facilities and my own private practice. MY APPROACH My unique and intuitive style focuses on support, comfort, and creating a relaxing and restorative space. I have extensive training and experience in providing massage for hospice patients and elders and this work has helped me be more patient, kind, and open-hearted with all my clients. My approach is also influenced by a variety of frameworks including Swedish, Dermoneuromodulation, Reiki, Biodynamic Massage and Mindful Awareness in Body-Oriented Therapy (MABT) all of which require a sensitive and kind touch. I know it can take a lot to come into a stranger’s space and give a therapist the trust necessary for bodywork to be it’s most beneficial. I honor that this is a process and remain grateful for the trust my clients have given me over the years. All massage sessions are delivered with thoughtful intention in a friendly, professional environment. BEYOND MASSAGE I am a writer with an MFA from Bennington College. In my free time, I love walking on Mt. Tabor, a constant inspiration for the photography I do as a hobby. My writing and photos can be found at tracyburkholder.com.
