KnotionMend is my independent massage therapy practice located inside Whole Health & Wellness in Woburn — a chiropractic and integrative health clinic led by Dr. Mary Medwar.
While I work alongside the Whole Health & Wellness team, KnotionMend operates as a fully independent practice. I have my own private treatment room within the clinic, and all sessions are scheduled, provided, and managed directly by me.
Important Booking Note (Please Read)
Appointments must be booked through KnotionMend (not through the Whole Health & Wellness front desk).
Online booking available 24/7

Memberships Available — the easiest way to stay consistent (and save)
Some people may feel better after one session. But real, lasting change happens when massage is consistent—so your body isn’t starting over each time. Whether you’re coming in for pain relief, recovery, or simply to relax and de-stress, regular sessions help keep tension from building back up and make each visit feel more effective.
A helpful guideline:
- Every 2–4 weeks works best for most clients
- Weekly can be helpful short-term during flare-ups, heavy training, or high-stress seasons
- Many clients then shift into a comfortable maintenance rhythm
Membership options (60 or 90 minutes) make consistency simple: 1 credit per month, rollover up to 12 months, pause/cancel anytime, and any additional appointments are always booked at the membership rate.
To enroll, click Deals at the top of this page — or ask me during your visit and I’ll help you choose the best fit.
A Collaborative Clinical Setting
Dr. Medwar, the Whole Health & Wellness team, and I refer clients to one another when appropriate. I also receive referrals from local healthcare professionals and long-term clients who value thoughtful, therapeutic care.
Being part of a clinical environment keeps my work grounded in professionalism and clinical understanding — while still offering a calm, private space dedicated entirely to massage.
What to Expect During Your Session
Your comfort, privacy, and safety are always the priority.
You’ll undress in private to your comfort level, get settled on the table, and remain professionally draped and securely covered at all times. Only the area I’m actively working on is uncovered, and draping is adjusted and re-secured before moving to any new area.
Underwear bottoms and bras are optional. Some clients leave them on. Others prefer to remove them for smoother flow and glide during certain techniques — either choice is completely fine. Private areas are never exposed, and the level of professionalism and boundaries remains the same either way.
Everything is explained, nothing is rushed, and you’re always welcome to ask questions or share preferences at any point.
How Sessions Are Structured
When you book a session, that time is reserved solely for you.
- Full hands-on time (a 60-minute session means 60 minutes on the table)
- Built-in buffer time so sessions never feel rushed
- Thoughtful intake + ongoing check-ins
- A calm transition on and off the table
This structure helps your nervous system settle so your body can respond more effectively — whether your goal is pain relief, recovery, relaxation, or a blend of all three.
24-Hour Cancellation / No-Show Policy
Because your appointment time is reserved just for you:
- Cancellations or reschedules must be made at least 24 hours in advance
- Appointments canceled within 24 hours, as well as no-shows, are charged the full session rate
Pressure That Respects Your Nervous System
I offer light, medium, firm, and deep pressure — always applied gradually and intentionally.
Effective massage does not need to be painful.
The goal is to help your body release — not brace.
You’re welcome to be quiet or conversational. You set the tone.
What I Commonly Work With
I work with a wide range of goals and concerns, including:
- Chronic muscle tension and stiffness
- Neck, shoulder, and low-back pain
- Postural strain from work or daily life
- Sciatic and nerve-related tension
- TMJ discomfort and headaches
- Stress, burnout, and nervous-system overload
- Athletic training, recovery, and overuse patterns
- Foot, calf, hip, and leg tension (including plantar fasciitis patterns)
- Restricted mobility (including frozen shoulder patterns)
If you don’t see your concern listed, that’s okay — many clients come in without knowing exactly what’s going on. We figure it out together.
The Way I Work
I’ve been practicing for nearly a decade, and I take education and professionalism seriously.
Massachusetts massage licensure is education-based and requires completing at least 650 hours from an approved massage therapy program. I completed 900 hours, building a strong clinical foundation.
I also chose to pass the MBLEx (Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination) — a national licensing exam developed by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB). Many states require the MBLEx as part of licensure because training-hour requirements can vary by state, and the exam helps confirm a consistent, entry-level standard for safe practice.
Massachusetts typically doesn’t require the MBLEx if you meet the state’s education and curriculum requirements — but I took it anyway to hold myself to a national standard and to make it easier to pursue licensure in other states if needed.
What this means for you: you can feel confident booking with a therapist who is thoroughly trained, nationally tested, and committed to safe, effective therapeutic care.
My approach is grounded in:
- Slow, intentional techniques
- Clear communication + consent
- Respect for the nervous system
- Adjusting each session based on real-time feedback
Some sessions are treatment-focused.
Others are restorative.
Most are a blend of both.
Your Session, Your Space
This time is yours — and the room can be adjusted to support you.
- Music: Choose what you’d like to listen to (as long as it’s calm and massage-appropriate). You’re welcome to pick a playlist.
- Lighting: Warm and dim, or brighter if you prefer
- Heated Table: High / medium / low / off — we can adjust it anytime
Nothing is assumed. Nothing is rushed. Everything is adjustable.
Professional Standards & Boundaries
KnotionMend is a strictly professional, therapeutic practice built on respect, consent, and clear boundaries.
All sessions are non-sexual in nature. Any inappropriate behavior, language, or requests will result in immediate termination of the session without refund, and future booking will not be permitted.
