I have been a licensed massage therapist since the year 2000 after graduating with a Therapeutic Recreation degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I use many techniques including Myofascial Release (MFR), Trigger Point, Proprioceptive Muscular Facilitation (PNF), Craniosacral, and Visceral Manipulation. For many years I have worked along side Physical Therapists and have learned much from them about injury prevention and rehabilitation, and postural dynamics. I have also learned so much from working with Acupuncturists and Naturopathic Doctors, Orthopedic doctors, and others in allied health fields, co-treating patients and continually learning from each other. Personal Trainers, yoga therapists, Feldenkrais teachers, estheticians, and many others also compliment and are a part of my referral circle.
I came to massage after starting out in the Fine Arts. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, with a major in Therapeutic Recreation with an emphasis in Art and Outdoor Recreation.
After my internship at the Brain and Spinal Chord Rehabilitation Center in Eugene, Oregon, I went on to study massage therapy at a private school in Eugene. After building my Eugene practice, I decided to relocate to Portland in 2006, where I joined West Portland Physical Therapy Clinic while I developed my current private practice.
