Hi, I'm Kathleen Beier, born and raised in Massapequa and Owner/ Massage Therapist at Beier Wellness. I'm excited to be working in my home town. With a medical mindset, I practice both western and eastern philosophies. I received my Massage Therapy License from The Swedish Institute in Manhattan, in 1993. This is where I was introduced to Clinical Massage Therapy and the 5 Element Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Depending on my client, I may incorporate my western training of Craniosacral Therapy (developed by an Osteopath) into my massages or utilize the frame work of TCM. Both treatments can help with, tight muscles, neck/shoulder/low back pain, headaches, digestive issues, etc. Specifically, I practice Traditional Chinese Medicine for Woman's Health. Headaches, cramps, mood swings, hot flashes, tender breasts, are all signs that there is stagnation within 3 meridians or energy pathways running through the body. Using the 5 Element Theory we can prevent these stagnations from forming into bigger issues. I'm looking forward to all the interesting people I get will get to know, grow, and heal with, in my new office.
Go on, be a good friend and share MassageBook with them. They'll love you for it.
