Hello!
I offer a variety of session options that are focused on scars and scar tissue, manual lymphatic drainage, chronic pain and tension, complicated movement patterns, pediatrics, and therapeutic massage. The session details include information about techniques being used and who the session may be beneficial for.
My specialty is working with scars, scar tissue, and adhesions, primarily using Sharon Wheeler's ScarWork techniques. She is a pioneer in the field of fascia and scars, and I have had the delight of studying both ScarWork 1 and 2.
RAPID NeuroFascial Reset is a neurological based technique focusing on pain, whether that is from sensitized nerve endings or the nerves themselves. This is best as a standalone session since it does not always integrate well into other sessions.
Lymph Drainage Therapy from Dr. Bruno Chikly is a form of manual lymphatic drainage that also includes work with the fascia and organs. If you are seeking massage for lymphedema or are considered high-risk of developing the condition, I recommend consulting with your surgeon or primary medical provider first and seeking out a certified lymphedema specialist.
NeuroKinetic Therapy is a form of applied kinesiology, also called muscle testing. This protocol involves testing structures in the body to troubleshoot how the brain is organizing the body and what can be done to help 're-program the brain' in a sense.
My background also includes James Waslaski's orthopedic massage, Upledger Craniosacral Therapy, myofascial release, clinical massage, and Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques (Erik Dalton's work). I don't describe myself as a medical massage practitioner because I haven't taken a course that calls itself medical massage. The skill set I have is medical in nature even without the formal title.
