Precision Myofascial Therapy Clinic
Clinical Myofascial Release & Postural Restoration
The Evolution of Our Practice
Precision Myofascial Therapy Clinic (formerly Velvet Lotus Massage Spa) has officially transitioned into a specialized clinical, therapeutic approach to bodywork. My name is Traviata "Maria" Raudales, Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) # M06681.
While my career began in high-end spas, I have moved away from the "relaxation" industry to provide a deeper, more permanent solution for chronic pain.
The John F. Barnes Approach: Beyond "Deep Tissue"
Our clinic exclusively practices the John F. Barnes Myofascial Release (MFR) approach.
Traditional Swedish and Deep Tissue massages often only address the surface muscles, providing temporary relief. Our specialized MFR technique targets the fascial system, the body’s dense, 3D connective tissue web.
Fascial restrictions can exert pressures of up to 2,000 pounds per square inch, creating structural "snags" that deep tissue massage simply cannot reach. By applying sustained, gentle pressure into these restrictions, we allow the tissue to "melt" and elongate, providing long-term relief from chronic pain and postural dysfunction.
Important: Our Clinical Standards
To ensure the most effective treatment, we have eliminated all traditional "spa" protocols.
- No Oils or Lotions: We do not use oils, creams, or lotions. True MFR requires a firm, "skin-on-skin" grip to accurately detect and engage fascial restrictions. Using lubricants would cause us to slide over the skin, making it impossible to achieve the necessary fascial release.
- No Traditional Massage: We do not perform Swedish, relaxation, or "rubdown" services.
- No Spa Add-ons: We no longer offer heat packs, foot scrubs, or pampering treatments.
What We Treat: Structural Realignment
Our focus is on identifying and correcting the postural imbalances that cause chronic tension. We specialize in treating:
- Postural Dysfunctions: Correcting hip hikes, pelvic tilts, and rib cage compression.
- Chronic Trigger Points: Releasing the "knots" caused by repetitive stress or trauma.
- Restricted Mobility: Restoring range of motion for nurses, tradespeople, and corporate professionals who are physically taxed by their daily work.
Commitment to Recovery
Located in Ellicott City, Maryland, our clinic is dedicated to those who are ready to commit to their health. Because fascial restrictions develop over years, we prioritize patients ready to embark on a consistent Treatment Track to achieve lasting structural change.
