Creative Massage & Other Techniques, Inc. is an independently owned Healing Arts Wellness Boutique offering bodywork therapy treatments for adults and children, operating out of the Lake View Chiropractic clinic, in the Lake View neighborhood of Chicago, IL.  

The focus of our practice is to provide the most effective & efficient bodywork modalities for greater natural health, quality of life, longevity, self-development, & empowerment. Our practice offers another option, a different way, a natural way, of addressing pain & stress reduction, management, & prevention.  Our approach, based on ancient philosophy and modern science, is gentle on, as well as in harmony with the body & able to support, nurture, rejuvenate, & strengthen the various bodily systems that make up the physical human body.  

The manual therapies we offer are complimentary & alternative health treatments that can be incorporated into one’s self care regimen on one’s healing journey to assist with the management, reduction, & prevention of tension, tightness, stress, pain, & energetic imbalances (often presenting as symptoms of acute & chronic disease) related to the demands of everyday life, lifestyle habits, major life events, & stress/trauma from experiences related to the recent & distant past.

When left unaddressed or unprocessed stress can manifest in one’s body in a variety of ways & can possibly be experienced/identified as: tenderness, pain, irritation, worry, fear, anxiety, depression, difficulty thinking, concentrating, focusing, learning, with memory, difficulty falling/staying asleep, headaches, digestive issues, making decisions, “letting go” of the past, moving forward, & symptoms of chronic disease (e.g., high blood pressure).

Our signature manual therapies use specialized techniques to *release* stored stress, tension, pain, & limitations held in the fascia, muscles, & nervous system, enabling the tissues to *unwind,* *creating space* for essential substances of/for the body, such as blood, oxygen, lymph, cerebrospinal fluid, & Qi or Life Force to *return* &  *flow* optimally through their respective system.  The body then works to rebalance its internal environment- restoring balance within cells, tissues, organs, entire organ systems, essentially the whole body. Balance within each, and all, is necessary for health.  Bodywork helps to rebalance, activate, & regenerate the body for improved health and quality of life.

Manual therapies are a tool & practitioner a guide working along side client, & practitioner & client collaborating as a team to accomplish client’s goals. Understanding the body’s necessity for safety in order to self-repair, self-heal, & thrive, & honoring this truth through a conscious practice of integrity, that nurtures & fosters a sense & state of safety,  is paramount for the client’s wellbeing and the team's success.  Appropriate professional boundaries, gentle yet firm therapeutic touch, patient centered & trauma informed care, patient-autonomy, acceptance of client, & regarding the client as a person, a precious being, are diligently practiced during each treatment.  With conscious intention, a genuine sense of consistency, predictability, control, acceptance, comfort, & relaxation is nurtured & supported within the client for their physical, emotional, & mental well-being, from the very start to the very end of their experience within their service.  When the body feels at ease, the body is able to shift from a state of fight, flight, fawn, & freeze, a state of stress, to a more relaxed state, one of calmness, that enables the body to begin to let go, to rest, to become receptive.  It is in a positive, constructive state, of calmness, relaxation, & rest that our therapies are able to reach even deeper, more positive constructive levels, where true self-repair, self-healing, & self-mastery can be achieved.
