Sarah began her massage journey in 2021, when she attended a 12-month licensing program at Colorado School of Healing Arts (CSHA) in Lakewood, Colorado. Massage was supposed to be a temporary pivot, something to do in the interim as she readjusted her sails after graduating from University of Colorado Denver in May of 2020; plan A had been applying to grad programs for physical therapy that fall, not enrolling in a massage therapy program...but life had other plans, and something unexpected happened. In those first few months of working as a massage therapist at her first studio job in the heart of Denver, Sarah discovered a passion for the work and knew it wouldn't just be a stop along the way to grad school. To Sarah, massage is all about connection - between mind and body, therapist and client - and facilitating mind-body awareness, the body's ability to heal itself, and nervous system relaxation. Through an integrated and tailored approach, Sarah uses a variety of massage techniques aimed at addressing each client's needs. She's found massage therapy to be incredibly beneficial - for injury recovery, self care, general maintenance, aches and pains, mental health, overall wellbeing - she's seen it with her clients, experienced it herself, and is a big believer in the health benefits massage has to offer. Sarah takes care to create a welcoming and calming environment and is always happy to take on new clients; she also regularly works with clients she's seen since the very beginning back in early 2022. She's honored to have so many long-standing clients and have been a part of their journeys. With her extensive education and background in anatomy & physiology (Sarah's degree is a B.S. in biology & a minor in chemistry) and her drive to never stop learning, Sarah brings a rich understanding of the human body and massage to the table. Her approach is heavily based in neuromuscular and myofascial models, which she tends to integrate with Swedish and sports techniques - depending on the client and the session. She's also a big fan of cupping, which she currently offers by request at no extra charge. Although not currently set up for it, she hopes to have a setup for hot stone in the near future. Ultimately, Sarah's goal with her clients is to set them up the best she can for success - encouraging movement and body awareness & connection. When she's not doing the rewarding work of massage, Sarah can almost definitely be found somewhere outdoors - whether hiking with her dogs, camping, climbing, or whatever other exciting adventures she can get into. Sarah also enjoys travel, live music, time spent with loved ones, gardening, and lazy days.
Go on, be a good friend and share MassageBook with them. They'll love you for it.
