Carrie Kooyenga, PTA, LMT, is the founder of Arukah Wellness and the creator of Arukah Therapeutic Bodywork , an integrated approach that bridges clinical rehabilitation with trauma-informed, restorative bodywork. Trained as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant through Blackhawk Technical College (2008) and as a Licensed Massage Therapist through Wisconsin School of Massage Therapy (2025), Carrie brings together medical knowledge, skilled manual therapy, and somatic awareness to support healing at both the physical and nervous system levels. Through Arukah Therapeutic Bodywork, Carrie offers intentionally paced 90- and 120-minute sessions that emphasize safety, attunement, and regulation. Her work supports clients in releasing chronic tension, restoring mobility, reducing pain, and reconnecting with their bodies in a sustainable, embodied way. She specializes in therapeutic, medical, and sports massage, trauma-informed bodywork, and injury prevention, while also integrating holistic practices that support whole-body wellness. In addition to hands-on care, Carrie creates natural wellness products and continues her studies in herbalism, with the goal of integrating plant-based support into her practice in a thoughtful, complementary way. Carrie values a collaborative, team-based approach to healing and regularly works alongside physical therapists, medical providers, and other wellness practitioners to ensure her clients receive well-rounded, individualized care. Her approach honors both clinical insight and the body’s innate capacity to heal. Whether you are seeking clinical care, holistic support, or a restorative reset, Carrie is dedicated to walking alongside you with presence, skill, and compassion on your wellness journey.
