As a massage therapist, my goal is to support clients in achieving their own wellness goals. Whether you're becoming accustomed to touch, relieving stress, lifting heavy, running long distance, or spend your days sitting at a desk, you'll benefit from a session at Under Pressure.
Using an evidence based approach, we can not only help to prepare you for or recover from sports events but also relive many physical, physiological, and psychological concerns. For example, muscle recovery (DOMS), increase/reset ROM, increase blood flow to facilitate healing, relieve nerve impingement, frozen shoulder, tech neck, stress, and depression.
Technique
Four aspects that inform my massage technique are Forearm Fusion, a modality which emphasizes the use of the forearm and elbow; Lomi Lomi, a Hawai'ian stye of massage emphasizing contact and flow; myofascial techniques, which include slow movement and traction to release tension; and Anatomy Trains, an approach to bodywork focusing on the myofascia as a bodywide, interconnected system. All in all, this results in a slow and deep massage using flowing movements and increased contact. Additionally, our session may also include the use of cupping, hot stones, and hot towels.
If you're preparing for your next event, looking to ease your pain, or just want to relax, check out my availability and booking your session now! When booking online, you will be required to place a card on file due to the cancellation policy but you can choose to pay at appointment. Before your appointment, you will receive an intake form to your email. Please complete it before our appointment, as this will help me prepare for our session and keep notes for future sessions.
Location and Parking
The office is located at 1210 E. Cary St, 3rd Floor. On weekends, the front door is generally locked, so I will meet you at the front door and bring you upstairs. Street and garage parking are available; please plan to arrive early in order to find parking.
Late Arrivals and Cancellations
Clients who are running late should notify my call or text. Appointments will be cancelled for clients who have not arrived within 15 minutes of their start time; depending on my schedule, we may not be able to make up any time. Clients may cancel or reschedule their appointments up to 12 hours before the appointment time with no penalty. Clients who no show/cancel/reschedule within 12 hours will be charged 50% of the appointment total.
About Me
I am originally from Michigan, having moved to Richmond in 2020 to teach German at the secondary level. After a few years of teaching, I decided I needed a career change and am now working for an ocean freight carrier alongside massaging. In my free time, I like to be in nature, paint with watercolor, play volleyball and kickball, crochet, and try to get my cat to cuddle with me.
I attended Lotus Professional College's massage therapy program in Richmond, VA and graduated in Spring 2025. My license number is 0019020438 and can be verified via License Lookup.
