Christina Castillo Massage Therapy
Christina earned her Masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAcOM) from AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, Texas. As part of her training at AOMA, Christina completed a 500-hour Asian Bodywork Program (with 72 clinic hours in Zen Shiatsu), as well as a 500-hour Sheng Zhen Wuji Medical Qi Gong Program. She also completed studies in Massage Therapy and Health Education from the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville, CA, in 1997.
Over the years, Christina has gained valuable experience working in a variety of settings, from rehabilitation hospitals specializing in integrative oncology, chiropractic offices, boutique and urban retreat spas, B&Bs, out-call and event servicing, volunteering, private practice, acupuncture clinics, multidisciplinary medical settings, to nonprofits specializing in mental health care.
Currently her bodywork style is a blend of traditional Western and Eastern massage techniques (Deep Tissue, Swedish, Trigger Point Therapy, Shiatsu, Acupressure, Sports Massage, etc.) which is bolstered by her extensive acupuncture medical training. Her focus has been to manage chronic and acute pain, alleviate stress and anxiety, and aid in the recovery of trauma or injury.
Ultimately, Christina's goal is to provide her clients with a nurturing experience that effectively stimulates the body's self-healing process using a well-rounded, integrative approach. Whether you're wanting to recover and rehabilitate, or simply relax and recharge, Christina's treatments are a powerful stand-alone, or adjunctive therapy, on your journey towards health.
Christina is an NCCAOM Diplomate of Oriental Medicine and is also nationally certified as a Massage Therapist through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB).
