My philosophy as a Licensed Massage Therapist is deeply rooted in the concept of 'mind and body.' While I focus on providing relief from structural issues, my primary objective is to calm the nervous system.

I firmly believe that massage therapy does not necessitate pain to be effective and my goal is to aid the body in letting go of it's stored tension by positively influencing the Nervous System by employing a balanced approach, without resorting to painful techniques that trigger the body's natural 'armoring' response. When we intentionally create uncomfortable pain on the table it causes the clients Nervous System to automatically armor up and tighten the myofascial system in order to protect the body from the "perceived threat" and pain. I work within the Nervous Systems comfort levels to avoid triggering that alarm. Clients can experience relief from muscle tension and pain while still being able to enjoy a sense of relaxation. 

I offer a range of massage sessions using various modalities:
Swedish Massage - typical head to toe, great for over all health maintenance, muscle, pain, & tension relief.
Focus massage - geared for working on specific issues and their associated muscles. Example; sciatica, frozen shoulder, etc.
Integrated Therapeutic - I combine methods to help alleviate problem issues. Incorporating both Swedish and Deep Tissue techniques, along with cupping & facilitated stretching as needed.
Hot Stone, Prenatal, and Senior Massage sessions.

I am trained in the following:

1. Swedish, Deep Tissue, NMT and PNMT techniques
2. Cupping Therapy (Modern Cupping Therapy Company) - decompresses tissues to reduce pain, release fascia, improve circulation, and alleviate nerve sensitivity.
3. Therapeutic Cupping for Lymphatic Drainage (Modern Cupping Therapy Company) - Uses cupping tools to perform lymphatic drainage.
4. NeuroCupping (Neuromuscular Cupping Therapy) - combines active range of motion & cupping.
5. Orthopedic Cupping (Alchemy Education) - combines traditional cupping techniques with a focus on addressing orthopedic & musculoskeletal problems
6. Oncology Massage (SC4OM) - special training regarding ports, radiation, surgical sites, etc. using adapted massage techniques for those currently receiving cancer treatment and those recovering from it.
7. Senior & Geriatric Massage - Special training for the aging, degenerative conditions, & common age-related pathologies.
8. Manual Lymphatic Drainage - Vodder Method (KLOSE Institute) - manually activating and draining the lymphatic vessels. Great for over all lymphatic system help for everyone. But especially for alleviating lymphatic congestion, Edema, Lymphedema, & post-op swelling. Also great for old surgery and injury sites that have become congested & show signs of chronic edema.  (I do not take clients seeking MLD from having extensive Plastic Surgery done - i refer out to those specializing in this specifically).
9. PNF-based Facilitated Stretching (ProActive Massage) - combines push &resist with stretching to gain improved range of motion.

Q & A **What will a massage session be like?
Many people are seeking massage therapy for their first time and are concerned about what to expect. 

1- Massage Therapy is modest and respectful. You will be draped at all times under a sheet and blanket except for the specific area that is being worked on. After it is worked on it is covered up again. 

2- All gluteal work is done through the sheet layer, and no work is done on the upper 3-4" of the inner thighs. 

3- Breasts and genitals are covered at all times and never touched or massaged! 

4 - Enforced cancellation policy. By booking an appointment, this spot is reserved for you. If you fail to give a 48 hour notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment, you will be charged 50% of the appointment fee. At 24hrs if you cancel or no-show you will still be charged the full session fee. If a card was used to book the appointment, a portion will be refunded back to you if one is owed, minus card processing fee. If a card was not used, no future appointments can be made until  fee's are paid.

**Since my goal is mind and body therapy, i believe "no pain-no gain" deep tissue methods are counter productive and negates therapeutic benefits for *all* systems of the body. If you are of the "no pain, no gain" mindset and feel that the only way you can get relief is from a forceful ("can't hurt me") massage session - i am not the right therapist for you. 
 

***Zero Tolerance Policy***

I am a licensed professional! I have a strict zero tolerance policy. Any form of sexual solicitation, requests, innuendo, jokes, conversation, etc. the session will immediately end, full session price will still be charged, and person will be banned from future sessions with me.
