Sol Obscurus is Latin for a "dark (obscured) sun", or what we refer to as an eclipse. The Sun is associated with the ego--the self which we project out to others in seeking approval and making our place in the world.
The Sun can represent a channel for creative energy, a strong sense of self, and in TCM would correspond to "Yang" external or active energy--the daily go-go-go.
Light reveals, but too much light shining out blinds and conceals what hides within.
Sol Obscurus, the eclipse, asks "who are you when you are not in the spotlight?" When you step into a place of darkness and reflection and the moon comes between you and the sun, what do you see?
The work of your physical body is always energetic, and energetic work always tangibly contacts the physical. The two are inseparable.
Sol Obscurus' goal is to provide holistic, person-centered care that unifies the physical and non-physical aspects of life. We blend Eastern and Western techniques and traditions for a comprehensive approach to bodywork that addresses matter and energy simultaneously.
