have been in the massage and bodywork industry as a therapist and teacher for 30 years. My initial training was in Shiatsu but I am also trained in western massage (Swedish, trigger point therapy, Neuromuscular and myofascial work) and have done extensive continuing education in Thai, manual lymph drainage, and Tuina.
I specialize in using eastern and western approaches to address musculoskeletal pain and/or other health issues such as anxiety, depression, respiration, digestion and menstruation. I mainly work with health-conscious working and retired professionals who are committed to ongoing body maintenance to stay healthy. I am also able to work with clients with chronic or advanced conditions who are seeking a complement to western medical treatments.
As an educator I have developed and taught many courses including beginning and advanced Shiatsu, Chinese Medicine theory, bodywork for Special populations (cancer, pregnancy, trauma, fribromyalgia), Communication, Ethics, and Professional Development.
I am an AOBTA Certified Practitioner and Instructor. I currently serve on the Board as the Education Director for that organization.
