Welcome to The Gentle Peach
Specialized Lymphatic & Scar Care for Recovery, Healing, and Ongoing Body Support
At The Gentle Peach, I help women feel better in their bodies — especially during seasons of recovery, change, and healing.
I’m Ruth McDonald, LMT, MLD-C, CDT. The Gentle Peach is a private, women-centered practice in Suwanee, Georgia specializing in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (lymphatic massage) and advanced scar therapy.
Women travel from Suwanee, Johns Creek, Duluth, Sugar Hill, Buford, and across North Atlanta for specialized lymphatic and scar care delivered in a calm, private setting.
What I Help Women With
Many of the women I see are navigating:
Persistent swelling after surgery
Fluid retention and heaviness
Fibrosis (firm or tight areas beneath the skin)
Scar restrictions after C-sections, breast surgery, abdominal procedures, or reconstruction
Lymphedema and lymphatic congestion
Slow or complicated healing
Tightness and reduced mobility
If your body feels swollen, restricted, or slower to heal than expected, you may simply need skilled lymphatic support.
The goal is not just temporary relief — but improved function, reduced swelling, and steadier recovery.
Women Also Come to Me When
Recovery is not always surgical.
Many women seek lymphatic care when their bodies feel different — even when they can’t fully explain why.
This may include:
Persistent puffiness or fluid retention
Body changes during or after weight loss
Feeling heavy, sluggish, or inflamed
Hormonal transitions
Chronic tension patterns
Maintenance care after previous lymphatic treatment
Preventative or supportive care
As the body changes, the lymphatic system plays an important role in fluid balance, comfort, and how the skin adapts over time. Skilled lymphatic work can support these transitions and help reduce feelings of puffiness, heaviness, or stagnation that sometimes accompany change.
Lymphatic therapy supports how the body processes fluid, adapts to change, and maintains long-term comfort and function.
Care That Adapts to You
No two bodies respond the same way.
What many clients value most is not a specific technique, but care that adjusts in real time — care that considers your history, your nervous system, your healing patterns, and what your body is communicating that day.
This may include support for facial swelling, TMJ tension, head and neck fluid congestion, post-concussion recovery, or complex patterns that do not fit neatly into one category.
Sessions are not protocol-driven. They are responsive, intentional, and grounded in clinical understanding.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (Lymphatic Massage)
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle, precise therapy designed to improve lymphatic function, reduce swelling, and support healthy recovery.
A common misconception is that lymphatic massage must be deep or painful. It does not.
The lymphatic system sits just beneath the skin. Effective treatment uses light, intentional pressure to support fluid movement — helping oxygen and nutrients reach areas that need support and improving overall healing conditions.
This work requires advanced training in lymphatic anatomy, post-surgical response, and fibrosis patterns.
Scar Therapy & Fibrosis Support
Scar tissue and fibrosis can create firmness, pulling, discomfort, and restricted movement long after a procedure.
Using specialized scar therapy techniques and Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS), I work to:
Soften adhesions
Improve flexibility
Reduce fibrosis
Support circulation
Improve movement and comfort
Scar therapy at The Gentle Peach is functional, intentional, and grounded in clinical understanding — not cosmetic-focused.
Scar Work Beyond the Early Healing Window
Many women are told scar care is only helpful shortly after surgery.
In reality, scars can change for years. Skilled therapy can support improvements in mobility, sensitivity, flexibility, and comfort long after the initial healing phase.
Addressing long-standing scars is often about restoring movement, reducing restriction, and helping the body relate to the area differently.
Progress does not depend solely on how recent a procedure was — it depends on the quality of care applied.
Phase II Lymphedema Support
I provide ongoing Phase II Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) support for women managing lymphedema, including maintenance care, compression guidance, and long-term lymphatic management.
This work supports continuity between clinical treatment and everyday life.
Advanced Training & Approach
I am certified in:
Vodder Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD-C)
Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT)
Oncology-informed lymphatic care
Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS)
Somatic and nervous system regulation strategies
My approach is trauma-informed, education-forward, and collaborative. You will understand what we’re doing and why — so you leave not only feeling better, but with a clearer understanding of your body.
If you are seeking specialized lymphatic massage or scar therapy in Suwanee or North Atlanta, I would be honored to support your healing.
You deserve steady, skilled care — even when your body feels like it hasn’t finished healing yet.
