Since as far back as I can remember, I've always been drawn to bodywork. As a kid back in Miami, I would always be rubbing my mom's neck— my stepdad's back, my friends' shoulders— wondering what I was feeling underneath my fingers, being told that I was right on an interesting spot, and that what I was doing felt so good. Before I even knew what massage therapy was, I was working on the people around me, just hoping to help them feel better.
When I graduated from Miami-Dade in 2019, I was looking for a path to take. The usual routes just didn't interest me; I was more interested in psychology, personal accountability— opportunities for real personal growth. I didn't see massage as a feasible future career, just something I gave to the people around me I cared about. It wasn't until I heard about Florida School of Massage that I began to consider the career as a real option.
With the teachings they offered there— such as Communications, and Anatomy and Physiology— I began to expand, vastly. Learning about the human body as well as the ways we hold our stresses, pains, and fears in both our bodies & our minds ignited a fire in me like no other. I loved knowing more about myself, my body and mind, and how to nurture them to be in alignment with the way I wanted to live— from drinking more quality water to speaking more mindfully and empathetically.
That translates into my massage. My sessions are cultivated with the goal of easing the nervous system in addition to the muscles. Studies find that no amount of work done on the muscles will truly hold if the body itself is not willing to let it. Because of that, I aim to use the most gentle but firm pressure possible when aiming for tension relief, allowing your muscles to feel seen without your nervous system feeling attacked.
My goal, above all, is to work WITH the body towards lasting relief— not to beat it down or force it into submission.
Enjoy bodywork that makes both your body and mind feel at peace. Book your next appointment today.
