Michael Frazier here, a licensed massage therapist and the owner of The Massage Clinic Colorado in Lakewood, where I work with people who are tired of having their lives inhibited by pain, injury, or sensory overload. Massage isn’t magic, but when it’s done right, it sure feels like it.
I’ve spent just about a decade now focusing on chronic pain, tough neck and shoulder issues, post-surgical recovery, and pre, post, and perinatal care, plus sensory challenges and all of the mental health strain that goes along with that. I cut my teeth during the pandemic, when I learned to look at my work as deeply connective, and at that time, through the lens of grief and loss.
Massage has helped me understand myself, the people around me, my relationships, the world, pain, anxiety, stress, and the effect they have on the body. I love reading peer‑reviewed research reports, academic documentation, and case studies in anything and everything massage related, and I keep a running summary blog on our website that breaks it down for my clients.
I rely on this research, ongoing education, constant practice, reflection, respect, and what I see real clients dealing with all the time. I bring every bit of experience and insight I have to every session, every time, for every client.
I opened The Massage Clinic so complex clients feel seen, taken seriously, and attended to, and also to mentor new massage therapists in trauma‑informed, ethical, sustainable practice. I want to pay LMTs what they are worth and cut through as much of the red tape, access barriers, false claims, gouging, guru-ism, and unnecessary myth‑making that exist in this industry in particular
