I think of my life in chapters, and somehow each chapter came with a completely different title.
In one chapter, I was a systems engineer. In another, I became an Army veteran. Then came cybersecurity. And in this chapter, I became a bodyworker.
Bodywork was never completely new to me. I had been giving massages on and off for nearly 20 years as a hobby. But I was also on the other side of the table a lot. I received enough bodywork to start understanding what actually feels good, what helps, and what makes someone feel safe enough to let go.
My own healing journey eventually pushed me to make the work official. I went back to school, studied massage, somatic work, and the nervous system, and started putting together everything I had learned from both giving and receiving.
I still have the engineer brain. I’m curious, I pay attention to details, and I like figuring things out. These days, the system I’m most interested in is the human body.
Know someone who just 's massages?
Go on, be a good friend and share MassageBook with them. They'll love you for it.
