I view massage therapy as a process of working from the skin surface down, using movement and relaxation techniques to loosen surface muscles in order to access the deeper muscle layers and to free up restrictions. I believe that massage should feel good and not cause pain. I enjoy working intuitively listening to the needs of each individual client. I specialize in neck and shoulder tension, chronic low back pain and headache/migraine issues.
Techniques I use include Swedish, Theraputic Deep Tissue, Myofascial and Craniosacral Therapy. I graduated in 2009 with a 1000 hour Massage Therapy Degree from the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Tempe, Arizona. I am currently studying Orthobionomy and incorporating those techniques into my massage.
I spend my free time outside working in my garden, walking, hiking or doing yoga. Studying, practicing, and receiving massage has helped me to be more in touch with my own body/needs and to value the importance of self care.
