The Koshawell is a massage and private yoga practice rooted in the belief that our existence extends beyond the physical body. To support the whole person, we weave together massage, yoga, and meditation. Each client is honored as an individual with a unique relationship to their physical, mental, energetic, and intuitive selves. Our mission is to provide tools and practices that foster an integrated sense of wellness, balance, and presence.
At its heart, The Koshawell draws on the yoga philosophy of the koshas—the five subtle layers, or “sheaths,” that surround and shape our human experience. These energy bodies guide how we perceive, respond to, and connect with the world. As awareness of these layers deepens, the practices learned at The Koshawell can help cultivate inner calm, clarity, and harmony.
The Five Koshas (Pancha Kosha):
- Physical Sheath (Annamaya Kosha) – the body itself, sustained by food and movement.
- Energy Sheath (Pranamaya Kosha) – the breath and life force that animate the body.
- Mind Sheath (Manomaya Kosha) – thoughts, emotions, and mental patterns.
- Wisdom/Intuition Sheath (Vijnanamaya Kosha) – inner knowing and discernment.
- Bliss Sheath (Anandamaya Kosha) – the deepest layer, a state of peace and joy.
