Since I was young, I have always had a leaning towards "fixing" everyone else around me, someone once called it the "Robin Williams Effect" meaning that I knew what it felt like to be in a dark place, and wanted to make sure nobody else reaches that point. I went through countless workshops, hours of self-healing and healing others, but most of them were on an emotional or spiritual level. I knew that something was missing, and one day a friend of mine asked to give me a massage because he thought I "needed it". I didn't think I was in bad shape but went for it anyways, and during that session, emotions and thoughts started pouring out of me, from past traumas to just tears and laughter about nothing. I was so confused and he explained to me that we hold or "store" so much emotion in our muscles, and when we physically work on those muscles it allows us to release everything bottled up inside them. I knew this was my next step. That moment I took my next steps to becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist so that I had another tool to be able to help not just myself, but those around me as well. What I have learned is, if you think you don't need work, you usually are the one who needs it most!
Go on, be a good friend and share MassageBook with them. They'll love you for it.
