Darcy is the owner of Darcy Stockton Massage Therapy (her Brooklyn Practice) and Magnolia + Fig . She also does consulting and creative direction work for other wellness practices and hotels through Magnolia + Fig. She came to bodywork through her own never-ending path of healing and continuing practice to learn to live in the whole body. Prior to coming to bodywork, she worked for over a decade in the fashion industry as a stylist, fashion, and market editor( DarcyStylist.com ). She worked with publications like Vogue Italia, L’Uomo Vogue, Zink Magazine and for department stores and brands like Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, and Born Shoes. She decided to presue healing arts after meeting with a makeup artist, to Prince (yes, the purple one) and former assistant to Horst Rechelbacher(the founder of Aveda), on a fashion photography set. She had left the industry to become an acupuncturist. This makeup artist imparted her experince and helped Darcy confirm this is the direction she wanted to take. Darcy always wanted to follow this path since her mother was an astrologer in the San Francisco Bay Area and had oppourtinites to work and study with various healers in the area but always resisted. Darcy wanted a slower lifestyle that allowed her to use her intuition as well as introduce balance, wellness, flexibilty, and healing into her own life. She graduated from the Swedish Institute, the premiere massage school in the US, in 2011 where she studied European based clinical massage therapy alongside East-Asian massage. Shortly thereafter, she started her private practice, servicing Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Her primary interest is helping clients understand their bodies from a mind/body perspective, the patterns they hold, and help attune to the felt sense needed to experience and walk through the world mindfully and fully. She has done advanced trainings in Polarity therapy, Craniosacral therapy, Peri-Natal Massage for the birth cycle, Esalen Massage, Reiki, Somatoemotional Release, Infant and Pediatric Massage. Additionally, she is a classically trained fashion designer, natural perfumer studying with Anya McCoy and Cecile Zakarian, has completed post-graduate trainings at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, and has studied Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Tri-state College of Acupuncture with such influential teachers such as Mark Seem and Kiiko Matsumoto (both of who have greatly informed her approach to manual bodywork).
