Your Body, Your Healer.
Welcome.
If you're here, something in you is already listening.
Whether you're living with pain, recovering from injury, feeling disconnected from your body, or simply curious if there might be another way, you've come to the right place.
I believe your body is always communicating, and healing begins by learning how to listen.
Through the John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approach, we co-create a gentle space where your body can unwind, reconnect, and remember its own capacity to heal.
Take a look around.
Follow your curiosity.
When you're ready, I'd be honored to walk beside you.
Sonya Weiser Souza, LMT
For more than 20 years, I've had the privilege of helping people reconnect with the wisdom of their own bodies. Whether you're living with chronic pain, recovering from injury, navigating stress, or simply longing to move with greater ease, our work begins by listening to what your body has been trying to say all along.
My approach blends the gentle, sustained techniques of the John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approach with restorative movement, Fascianation Method self-myofascial education, and a foundation in neuro-psychology. Rather than chasing symptoms, we'll explore the relationships between your body's structure, nervous system, movement patterns, and lived experiences to uncover new possibilities for healing.
Raised in Sparks, Nevada, I began my massage career in 2001 by moving to Honolulu, where I spent fifteen years studying, practicing, and embracing the spirit of aloha. During that time, I served as the massage therapist for the University of Hawaiʻi Swimming & Diving teams while earning my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Those experiences shaped my belief that every person is far more than a diagnosis or collection of painful body parts.
Today, alongside my private practice, I continue to share my love of movement through community classes and coaching. Every course, mentorship, and continuing education experience has deepened my understanding of fascia, movement, and the remarkable capacity our bodies have to adapt when given the right support.
My hope is that every session leaves you feeling more connected to yourself than when you arrived, with practical tools, renewed confidence, and a clearer understanding of your own body's incredible ability to heal.
I look forward to welcoming you back to Your Body, Your Healer.
