Hi, I’m Mandy!
I’ve been practicing massage since 2007, I’ve always been fascinated by the connection between the body, mind, and the things we experience in everyday life. Stress, work, injuries, sitting at a desk all day, being active, sleeping funny, carrying groceries, carrying everyone else’s problems… our bodies tend to keep the score! Massage gives us an opportunity to slow down, listen to what the body is saying, and give it a little attention.
My approach to massage is therapeutic, intuitive, and individualized. I don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” massage. Every body is different, and even the same body can need something completely different from one week to the next. I combine the techniques and modalities I’ve learned throughout my career including sports massage, Thai massage, cupping and more to create a session based on what you’re experiencing and what your body needs that day.
I especially enjoy working with people experiencing chronic tension, muscular pain, stress, restricted movement, and those stubborn areas that seem to keep saying, “Hey! Remember me?” I also love working with clients who simply need an hour or two to unplug, breathe, and take care of themselves.
My background in yoga has also shaped the way I approach bodywork. I’m interested not only in where something hurts, but in how your body moves, compensates, holds tension, and communicates with you. I want you to leave a session feeling listened to, not just worked on.
Most importantly, I want my clients to feel comfortable being exactly where they are. You don’t have to be flexible, athletic, pain-free, zen, or have your life together before you walk through my door. You just have to show up.
For me, massage is about creating a little more space in the body and a little more ease in life. Sometimes that means working out a knot. Sometimes it means helping you breathe a little deeper. And sometimes it means giving you permission to stop for a while.
I’m happy to help with all of it.
