What is Rolfing®?

Rolfing is a form of bodywork developed in the 1940s by Dr. Ida P. Rolf, a biochemist from Columbia University. Originally called "Structural Integration," the technique focuses on manipulating the body's connective tissues (fascia) to help the body naturally realign itself with gravity.

Dr. Rolf spent decades researching movement and how the human body interacts with gravity, drawing inspiration from disciplines like yoga, osteopathy, and chiropractic medicine. She hypothesized that trauma, stress, and poor posture cause fascia to tighten and restrict the body's natural alignment.

To fix this, she created a specific treatment plan known as the "Ten Series." This 10-step protocol works systematically to lengthen and reorganize the body's connective tissues.
