Studio Respiro—**from the Italian respiro, meaning “breath,” “reprieve,” or “respite”—emerged from my lifelong fascination with the ways the body holds memory, adapts to strain, and seeks restoration. To me, massage is never a rote application of technique; it is a dialogue between physiology and presence, between inherited traditions and contemporary practice.
My earliest teachers were my Italian immigrant parents in Melbourne, Australia. My mother’s cupping rituals and intuitive bodywork revealed to me that touch is both a medicine and a language—a way to listen to the body as a living archive of experience. Later, formal study at Fort Hays State University and a career in the arts expanded this foundation, teaching me to approach bodywork not only as craft, but as inquiry: an exploration of how attention, breath, and movement create conditions for repair.
In practice, I draw from a wide repertoire: deep tissue therapy, myofascial release, trigger point treatment, lymphatic drainage, TMJ protocols, assisted stretching, and prenatal care. These are complemented by cupping, Gua Sha, vibration, and thermal therapies, integrated with precision rather than applied as ornament. Each session is an act of attunement, informed by both anatomical knowledge and the poetics of care.
Studio Respiro is thus more than a clinical space—it is a reflective environment where pain can be understood, patterns can be reorganized, and the body can rediscover its own equilibrium.
