I believe everyone deserves self-care.
Healing is a process and takes time. Just finding out what healing means to oneself takes time. Over the years my understanding of what self care means has changed. I have replaced bad habits with habits that nurture my well-being. Massage showed me the way to my healing journey and started the path that created the person I am today.
I have gone through a long journey of healing and growth. In this journey of finding self-love and connecting to my roots, I have found my path. My journey started ten years ago with massage therapy. I worked in various settings like chiropractic offices, athletic centers, and spas. I have met many healers who have shown me different perspectives of healing. In chiropractic offices I learned how to create treatment plans specific to each clients needs.
I have found clarity and compassion for myself through massage.
I am a trauma survivor. I have healed through love and kindness from myself and my ancestors. I believe the universe is more magical than we are told and that everything is connected. Our body holds so much more than knots.
Living with C-PTSD has given me eyes to see what others may not understand. Trauma is complex and can live deep in our bodies for years. We hold that tension with us through the aches and pains.
Trauma can come from childhood, living with a bad relationship, accidents, losing a loved one, or an abusive job. Sometimes injuries, such as from a car accident or sports injury can damage our bodies for a lifetime. When experiencing trauma our body goes into fight or flight mode. That tension can stay in muscles and joints for years following the event.
Through the process of healing and bodywork, I have found inner peace, community, knowledge, and sobriety. I am passionate about helping others in their healing journey.
Healing of the body, mind, or spirit.
I am here to remind you that you deserve to heal, rest, and feel peace. I aim to create a safe space for folx to feel comfortable, relax, and reset.
Through bodywork one can avoid future injuries, aid past injuries, reduce tension, decrease aches or pains, and increase joint mobilization. Bodywork will help reduce stress and anxiety, help those with trauma, shut out internal noise, or even create better sleeping patterns.
My sessions are personalized to each individual's healing journey.
I focus on creating individualized treatment plans specific to a client's needs. I take special care to practice mindfulness and to take care of emotional boundaries. It is important to me to be careful with my client's physical and emotional energy.
I am an expert in several massage modalities including:
prenatal massage
trigger point release
deep tissue massage
Swedish massage
Thai massage
reflexology
sports massage
massage as part of a medical treatment
lymphatic drainage
acupressure
Additionally, I have deep experience incorporating ancient healing tools such as aromatherapy, hot stone, cupping, vibrational sound therapy, and gua sha.
I aim to provide accessible healing for the BIPOC and LGBTQIA communities.
I graduated from the SOMA Institute of Massage Therapy in Chicago in 2012 where I learned western modalities such as Swedish, deep tissue, and sports massage. In 2015 I attended Pacific College of Health and Science where I learned Eastern modalities like Thai massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy. Currently I am in the Masters program at Pacific College of Health and Science studying Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.
Healing comes to us in various ways. I am passionate about healing, wellness, and self-care.
The process of nurturing my inner child and my current self through various outlets of healing has been the greatest adventure. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to share this knowledge with my clients.
I look forward to meeting you and walking alongside in your personal healing journey.
