After three years of employment performing marketing and advertising research for an alternative health newsletter, I had learned enough about massage therapy that I decided to go to school and become a massage therapist. Shortly after making that decision I was involved in a motor vehicle accident that left me unable to work and go to school. I did not want to take prescribed medication for my injuries, but I wanted to heal. I started receiving massage therapy to see if this would reduce the pain I was experiencing. After several months of regularly scheduled massage appointments, I was completely out of pain, back to work, and extremely impressed with the results of massage therapy! I decided there was nothing else that I could do to serve my community better but to become a massage therapist and help those whose life is affected by living in pain! I graduated from the Alpha Institute of Massage in Port St. Lucie in 2000 and have been licensed and practicing since then. I also went on to receive my massage license in the state of New York. During the 15 years licensed, I have studied numerous modalities, but specialize in treating each client individually and tailoring every session to the specific needs of the client. I incorporate both western and eastern techniques during the course of any treatment. Bodywork such as Tui-na, Shiatsu, and Thai Massage may be combined with Myofascial Release, Swedish, and Cranial Release Technique as an example; this ensures the whole body, mind, spirit connection in healing. My focused education has been in treating low back, sciatic, and upper back, neck, shoulder pain.
