My specialty is focusing on each individual client’s needs and adapting treatment to help manage acute and chronic pain, improve mobility, and reduce stress. My approach involves combining myofascial trigger point therapy and massage/bodywork techniques with Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) and DDS Bioelectric The rapy. My goal is to help my clients identify the underlying cause of pain and/or dysfunction, develop a treatment plan based on clinical reasoning, and work with them to provide pain relief, restore function, and improve quality of life to get them out enjoying the activities they love. Come in and RESONATE ! My Story : How does a former biologist and experienced science teacher with a penchant for outdoor adventures end up a massage therapist? The equation is simple: work hard + play hard = overuse injuries, pain, dysfunction and the quest to eliminate them. For me, this long quest ended with my discovery of frequency specific microcurrent (FSM). It reduced my pain. It increased my ability to move. It improved my mental outlook. It helped me get back out in the world doing the things I love to do. And, it inspired me to do a lot of research and get training so I could continue to help myself as well as others. I discovered that FSM can be more effective for many conditions when combined with manual bodywork, so I became a massage therapist. I chose to specialize in trigger point therapy because it's a proven approach to efficiently find and eliminate the underlying cause of pain and dysfunction and works really well combined with FSM and DDS bioelectric therapies. Since then I have been filled with joy to have taken this path where each day as a manual therapist I can have a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of others. My Background : As a Wyoming native who grew up in southwestern Colorado and several summers in Alaska, I spent my youth exploring nature, fishing & swimming in lakes & rivers, backpacking & skiing mountains, hiking & camping in forests, working in salmon canneries to help pay for college, and running wild on my grandma's ranch. I also participated in competitive sports growing up, including basketball volleyball, soccer, gymnastics, and cross-country & field track. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology & Zoology and gained lab and fieldwork experience on research projects in California, Oregon, Fiji, and Florida. Later I spent many years sharing my passion for learning after earning a Master of Education degree in Science Education teaching in classroom and outdoor settings in Hawaii, Colorado, Florida, and California. To support my teaching habit in Hawaii, I also worked as a naturalist and/or crew on boats for many years. I also took advantage of the many opportunities island life presents for water sports and outdoor adventures, such as diving, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, kayaking, surfing, hiking, camping, and outrigger canoe paddling.
