I choose life and to live it to the fullest. If there is anything that I have learned, it that life it is precious and never promised. All we have is today, an opportunity to make every moment count.
By starting with one good decision, leading to the next. Soon growing healthier in every way. So, take a deep breath and take in the good, that life it has to offer.
My name is Raelle Sherynne Jordan, and I am as unique as my name sounds. Born a Native of Arizona, my grandma called me her "Rae of Sunshine."
With a natural ability to warm a room, I began singing and entertaining audiences of one, to thousands at a very young age. Modeling as 1989’s Copper-tone Water Baby, my next steps were down the runway. Modeling my way through every major department store. All while my spirt sang a melodic tune. Finding my way to home plate, singing our countries National Anthem, and performing in Super Bowl XXX’s half time show with Diana Ross.
Singing my way to KUPD Radio, to have center stage with Rod Stewart. Participating in theatrical performances across state lines. Acting, dancing and playing instruments.
I wanted to do it all. So I did.
An athlete, I committed myself to competing in swim, soccer, and volleyball. Learning the true spirit of being a part of a team and what it means to comeback from an injury. Earning numerous awards and achievements, I continued to reach for the stars.
I have always been determined to show up, work hard, and give my best. In first grade, the teacher noticed I was falling behind in reading, writing and comprehension. Not only did I end up needing glasses, but we realized that I was struggled with dyslexic as well. Hoping to grow out of it, I worked with it. Endlessly.
By the time I was in high school, I was excelling in English. So much so, I started to take college classes. That lead me to graduating early.
At seventeen, I moved out. Determined to make a better life for myself. Talking and meeting people from all over the world, serving warm meals, to hungry travelers and the locals that I grew up with. Learning to really listen to people, read their body language, make them feel comfortable, anticipate what they might want and exceeding expectations.
From word of mouth, I began a cleaning business. Offering basic and deep cleaning for commercial and residential housing. Developed marketing to promote business, managed scheduling, supplies and created a loyal clientele. This allowed me to work less and make more time for school, family, and fellowship.
Leading me to the love of my life.
Underage, at karaoke bar. Both with a heart for music, he was the lead sing in a rock band, and I was singing for the worship team at church.
Becoming best friends, he became my husband, my partner, my biggest cheerleader. Learning, growing, and continuing to choose each other through life’s adventures and hardships.
While we worked to make our dreams become a reality. Life gave us many opportunities to grow. Surrounded with lights and entertainment to the highest degree. We stepped foot into action with Caesars Entertainment at Harrah’s Ak-chin Casino and Resort. Making our mark in superior guest service.
At home, I got to know and care for my elderly mother in-law. She was a true artist and in the top 2 percent of the smartest people in the world. She taught me painting techniques, guiding me through my stokes, until I felt my own creative flow. Also, a seamstress, she taught me how to use a sewing machine. Instilling the importance of faith, family and friends. This classy lady showed me the finest fashion, from clothing, to home decor. Teaching me the difference between quality and quantity. Reinforcing proper educate personally and professionally.
Taking care of our loved ones and having the opportunity to do so, is one of the greatest gifts. With that said, taking care of yourself is most important. Itis important to recharge yourself, so that you can continue to give at your best capacity. Physically, mentally, and spiritually.
On my quest for self-care, I carved out time to get a massage. Desperate for pain relief, I left frustrated. Disappointed in the service that was provided, I felt like I could have done it better myself. Then right after, I saw the sign! On a shopping trip, signs with balloons everywhere, saying, “Come in, come in, come in”.
It just happened to be, Arizona School of Massage Therapy. I laughed and thought, “Me, a massage therapist”? Already on the path to teach secondary music education, I couldn’t help but to question where this path would take me. All I knew, was that I wanted to help people. I wanted to facilitate the care that I needed and didn’t get.
A 4-year-old, vigorously brushing my hair like Marsha Brady, I pulled my neck out of alignment. Not able to turn my head, my parents brought me to our local chiropractor. Now with a better understanding of a neck ache, I remember rubbing my mom’s shoulders and feet. Trying to balance, while walking on my dad’s back after a hard day’s work. My mom gently massaging my head, whisking my hair behind my ear when my head hurt or rubbing my tummy to soothe an upset stomach. Touch, compassion, and empathy from the very beginning.
This is where I am supposed to be. With an innate intuition, ability to connected and a thorough education, my journey into the health and wellness industry began.
Landing my first, massage therapist job, at a pain management center. I began to implement care plans, taking x-rays, leading one on one and group therapy sessions. Using re-patterning exercises, self-care techniques and strength training to facilitate healing to our clients. Having my own business in the past, I jumped in where needed, as if it were my own. Sometimes that was behind the desk, charting, scheduling, billing, inventory and cleaning. Wanting to deliver the absolute best experience possible. It was important to widen my scope of practice.
Moving into a spa setting, I incorporated hydrotherapy, including scrubs and wraps. Tailoring every service to each individual’s needs. Relaxation, pain relief and often a listening ear. Discovering other techniques and natural therapies, honing my intuition and skills. I practiced on family and friends. Further nurturing my inner entrepreneur. A positive network of business came my way. Soon to receive referrals, my private practice bloomed. Allowing me to truly give the service I’ve always wanted to receive. With a dream of owning my own health and wellness spa, I want to offer only the best. So why not learn from the best?
Working at world known resort spas, my expectations only grew. Using the finest quality of products in a luxury setting became mandatory and necessary. Completely surrounded in beauty. I am grateful to be where I am. Working side by side with other massage therapists. Some of those, also being doctors, nurses, firefighters, psychologists, councilors, and educators of all kinds. All sharing their knowledge and expertise to better help others. This is just the beginning of something great! Bringing eastern and western medicine together, to find the perfect balance.
I will continue to seek knowledge, continue to work on myself, so that I might better understand others. I will fill my cup, so that have enough strength to continue to give. Singing my song and filling the world with joy. Helping those in need, to my best ability, to find and maintain balance. Physically, emotionally and spiritually. This is what I have been called to do.
