Bear's Heart Therapeutic Massage was founded in November of 2020.  This is the second massage business for the owner, Threasa.    She had successfully owned, operated, and grew a medical massage practice (Chiron Massage & Reiki, LLC) to the point that allowed her to retire.  After 2 years of retirement, she realized she could not retire completely from massaging and opened another massage practice, initially renting a room out of a previous massage school teacher’s practice.  After a year in business, she outgrew the room rental in Waukesha an obtained her own office space in Elkhorn.  Unfortunately, that space was not up to code with the city or the fire department and she had to find another location, which brought her to Skin Deep Spa in Brookfield.

Bear’s Heart Therapeutic Massage is a medical massage practice that specializes in relieving chronic pain.  “Spa type” services (i.e. Swedish massage, couples massages, facials, etc.) are NOT offered here!!!  Massage specials, discounts, coupons, memberships, Spa Finder, Group On, etc. are also NOT offered here, so don’t ask.  We also do NOT offer refunds.  Payment is due at time of service or prepaid.  We accept cash, check, card, Venmo, HSA, and gift certificates.  We currently bill insurance as an out of network provider and are currently working on becoming an in-network provider with several insurance companies.  Currently Medicare and BadgerCare do NOT cover massage therapy.  A prescription from a licensed medical doctor and approved by your insurance company prior to your first appointment in order to bill insurance.

We treat people of all ages, from infants to senior citizens.  We recommend the 25 minute sessions for infants, toddlers, and seniors.  Parents/guardians are required to be in the treatment rooms with all minors.  In addition to being a licensed massage therapist.  Threasa is also a certified equine massage therapist and a certified canine massage therapist, and offers massage services for animals at peoples homes.

For client safety reasons, it is against massage industry policy to treat anyone who has a blood clot.  It is also against massage industry policy to treat anyone who has had any form of surgery or any woman who has delivered a baby during the initial 6 weeks post-surgery or post-delivery because clients are high risk for blood clots at this time.  Please note that woman who are in their first trimester of pregnancy or who have a high risk pregnancy will require medical clearance with written proof from their doctor prior to scheduling a massage because they are at a higher risk of miscarrying after a massage.  It is against office policy to treat anyone who is under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances, including marijuana/THC.  Clients who are arrive under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances will have their appointment canceled immediately with no financial reimbursement.  Sexual harassment and/or asking for sexual favors during/after the massage will not be tolerated!  Doing so will immediately end your massage service, have the police called on you, you will be permanently banned from the establishment, and you will not receive a financial reimbursement.
