I attended The Daniels Institute of Massage Therapy in Roanoke Va in 1997. I worked in a Chiropractic setting shortly after becoming Nationally Certified and licensed with the Board of Nursing for Massage Therapy. After watching friends and loved ones struggle to navigate our current healthcare system , I decided to get my degree in nursing. I completed my LPN at The Medical College of ECPI graduating with a 3.85 GPA and was Co-President of my class. My experience includes a background in Geriatrics, Psycho social Rehabilitation working as a mental health clinician, Wound Care, Community Health Care of all ages, Endocrinology and Diabetes, Orthopedics ; specifically Foot and Ankle, and Plasma Donation. I have completed my first level in Manual Lymph drainage at the Upledger Institute and am planning on finishing the next two levels by the first of the year.
Whew! What a journey! My take away is this- you have to be the captain of your own ship and seek an integrated “East meets West” healthcare approach. We are not the sum of parts. We are by nature programmed to seek balance. To achieve this I believe we need to incorporate mindful living, nourishing our bodies and minds with remedies; ancient and modern. We are a balance of mind, body, and soul. I want to offer you what modern healthcare is lacking, pain relief without medications, a safe nurturing place to heal, and an integrated approach that is specific to your needs. I will not only listen to your words, but what your body tells me as we begin your therapy journey. I look forward to meeting you and hope to see you on my table soon!
