Alexandra Moran is the founder of Origin Massage and Wellness. Alexandra studied massage therapy at the New York College of Health Professions. This course was an extensive specialized education spanning two years. Many modalities were demonstrated throughout this training as well as an extensive understanding of complex body systems and Oriental Medicine. Following her studies as a massage therapist Alexandra entered the GSOM program and maintained the program for a year and a half. She studied Qi Gong, Tai Chi, Yoga, and the Materia Medica, as well as all of the meridians channels and points of acupuncture. Alexandra decided to leave the program in 2014 due to personal reasons, as she had lost someone dear to her and wanted to move somewhere that was more suitable to her hopes for her lifestyle and healing practice.
Alexandra embarked on a few years of WWOOFing, which is a program dedicated to helping local community farmers all over America and the world. She landed in Teton Valley Idaho, outside of Jackson Hole, and fell in love. There, on a farm in rural Idaho, Alex learned to heal her mind and find peace in the slower pace of life. She cultivated the land of the high mountain desert and she raised small animals on a humble 8 acre farm.
Now Alexandra resides in Salt Lake City Utah. She is a multi instrumental musician with a band called Dolï, she is pursuing her higher education in Psychology, recently completing a BA in psychology at Weber State university in Ogden Utah. Alexandra will be pursuing a Masters & License in Clinical Social work and hope to integrate her studies of the mind body and spirit in her wellness practice.
Alex is also currently undertaking a 200 hr yoga teacher training certification, as well as studying Ayurvedic medicine. One can describe her as a true renaissance woman in the world of machines. She believes in the healing power of the land. The power of patience and peace, and a hope for a better world rooted in the medicine of the earth.
