Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle hands-on technique that uses a light touch to examine membranes and movement of fluid in and around the brain and spinal cord. Relieving tension in the central nervous system promotes a feeling of well-being by eliminating pain and boosting health and well being. The focus of CST is to assist release of the body’s fascia. Fascia is a covering found throughout the body including around organs, glands, nerves, muscles, blood vessels, and the brain and spinal cord. This covering forms a body-wide connective network. CST is based on the idea that the body is interrelated at all levels. Lauren has been an Occupational Therapist since 2005, specializing in pediatrics and sensory integration. She has always had an interest in the nervous system, self-regulation, and anatomy. She treats older children, adolescents, and adults utilizing both Craniosacral Therapy (CST) and SomatoEmotional Release (SER) techniques. Advanced specialties include brain and glial cell work, heart centered therapy, chronic depletion, sensory integration, and the enteric nervous system (gut and microbiome). CST can be used to treat many conditions since the focus of treatment is to help the efficiency of the nervous system. It is especially effective in treating: -Headaches and migraines -Chronic pain -Stress related conditions (anxiety/depression) -Sleep issues -TMJ -ADD/ADHD -Digestive issues -Immune function disorders -Chronic fatigue -PTSD -And many other conditions Lauren's goal is to provide you with the support your body needs to heal itself. Through deep listening and light touch, we work together to bring your body back into alignment, relaxation, and good health.
