I believe in the healing potential of massage, from the health benefits that accompany deep relaxation to using massage to address posture and pain. I have 22 years of experience practicing massage therapy and look forward to bringing all of that experience and the skills I've learned along the way to our work together. I'm particularly interested in shoulder mobility and in the lower back/hip complex. In addition to blending Swedish and deep tissue techniques I have also studied and offer reflexology, prenatal massage, scar tissue release, and manual lymphatic drainage.
I have extensive experience working with queer and trans clients, as well as clients with larger bodies. I'm particularly invested in creating space for people with marginalized bodies to receive bodywork safely.
On sliding scale payments
II have sliding scale pricing on all appointments. Please pay any rate within the listed range that feels right for you, or ask me about lower rates if needed. Queer, trans, and BIPOC folks are especially encouraged to talk to me about rates that are manageable for you.
The system allows two options when you book an appointment:
- If you select “credit card”, you will prepay your appointment online at the time of booking, and the booking system will charge the high end of the scale.
- If you select “pay at time of service” you can still use a credit card and will be able to specify your rate at check-out.
If you want a rate lower than the high end of the scale as displayed, please select “pay at time of service”.
I’m working on a better solution for this on the back end. Thank you for your patience as I figure out how to make this work.
New clients: What to expect from your first appointment
Two days before your appointment, you'll receive a link to an intake form. Please fill this out before your appointment to make the intake process smoother.
All new client appointments have an extra thirty minutes allotted for intake. We do not have to use the entire 30 minutes, but it is available if we need it. This gives us a chance to begin to get to know each other and talk about what brought you in, what you're looking for from massage, and what your previous experiences with massage (if any) have been like. This will involve going over the health history from your intake form and discussing anything else that is important for me to know about you or that will allow me to tailor the massage more specifically to your needs. I will make sure to ask about your preferred pressure (it's okay if you don't know yet!) and if there is anywhere you prefer not to be touched. The intake sets us up for success but is not the end of our conversation; I am always open to feedback during the session and happy to make adjustments to improve your experience.
After the intake chat (and a break to use the bathroom if you need it) I will step out of the room to wash my hands and give you a chance to get on the table. You may undress to your comfort level and then lie on the table under the sheet (and, in most seasons, blanket.) You will be fully draped at all times, and I will only uncover the part of your body I am working on at any given time.
After your session I will step out to wash my hands again so you can get dressed, and we will have a few minutes to go over any thoughts or questions you may have and any recommendations I may have.
Cancellation policy
Appointments cancelled less than 24 hours but more than 4 hours before the scheduled time will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the service cost. No-shows and cancellations with less than 4 hours notice will be charged the full cost of the service.
I offer all clients one waiver of the missed appointment fee per calendar year, no questions asked. This is not automatic; let me know if you wish to use your waiver.
If you are running more than 20 minutes late to your appointment please call or text to let me know to expect you, or I may no longer be available for your service. If you are more than 20 minutes late without contacting me that is considered a no-show.
Accessibility
The building is wheelchair accessible. My treatment room is small but I am doing my best to make sure it can also be navigated in a chair. If you have concerns about this please reach out; I am happy to talk with you about it, do a video call from the office to show you the space, or anything else that would be helpful.
I do not use any perfumes or scented products in my space or when washing my linens. I do occasionally use aromatherapy oils in my sessions; if you need to be sure there were no aromatherapy oils used in the space before your visit, let me know and I can make sure not to use them in the day or two before your appointment.
Lighting and music can both be adjusted to your needs.
If you have accessibility needs not mentioned here, please let me know! I will do my best to meet them, and to update this page so that any information I missed will be shared in the future.
Please note: the bathroom is shared with the rest of the office suite and I am not able to ensure that no scented products are used there. I will make sure there is unscented hand soap available for my clients and for my use while working.
Covid Safety
I am invested in caution around COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses both for your sake and for mine. Masks are required in the treatment room for both client and practitioner, and there will be an air purifier running at all times. Face cradle covers are changed between every session (as are all sheets on the table), and the face cradle underneath is sprayed down with alcohol and allowed to air-dry. If there is anything else you need to make the space safe for you, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
As noted above, the bathroom is shared with the rest of the office suite; masks are not required there but are of course welcome anywhere in the building.
Should I tip?
As a private practitioner setting my own rates, I do not expect tips. If you would like to tip you can select a rate at the higher end of the sliding scale--or even better, refer a friend to me instead!
