My massage therapy techniques range from gentile and pure relaxation, to deep tissue and myofascial work, to trigger point therapy. I typically do a mix of techniques during my sessions to bring you your optimal results, whatever they may be.
Acupuncture is an ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practice that involves puncturing the body with sterile, single-use, stainless steel needles at specific points. This helps regulate the flow of vital source (qi) along the various pathways (channels) to regulate one’s internal balance and flow. There are many ailments acupuncture can aid in treating including: chronic pain, anxiety, depression, addiction, headaches, migraines, infertility, nausea, digestion issues, fibromyalgia, and cold symptoms. In conjunction with acupuncture, I also may use other techniques including: cupping, gua sha, E-stim, and tui na.
~Cupping is performed with a glass cup heated internally with a flame to cause suction of the skin, fascia, and muscle. This helps to relieve tension, break up adhesions, and allow the connective tissue that surrounds the muscles to be pliable.
~Gua Sha or “sand scraping” is the use of a tool (which looks much like a Chinese soup spoon), to scrape the skin to increase the blood flow of the soft tissue or “move stagnant qi and blood”. A liniment (lubricant) is applied to the skin and the spoon is scraped using long or short strokes.

~Electrical Stimulation (E-stim) is when the needles are attached to a device that sends electrical currents or pulses into the body. Electrical currents have stimulating effects, which can influence the cells, tissues and entire systems. While most electrotherapy techniques are transcutaneous, only allowing the electricity to flow over the skin, EA channels it into the body with pinpoint precision.
~Tui Na is Chinese medical massage which helps increase blood flow to muscles, increase range of motion in joints, relieving pain from sore muscles, and decrease stress. Tui na can be performed with the clothes on, before, to help assess the body's condition, or after acupuncture, to relieve pain.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you on your health and wellness journey!
