I never planned to become a massage therapist. I went to massage school for my youngest daughter, who was diagnosed with Fairbanks disease—a rare genetic bone disorder that causes chronic pain and joint issues. I recognized it immediately because I had it too. I knew what she was facing, and I knew massage could help. After two major surgeries in my twenties, I went from a sedentary childhood to living fully—racing, traveling, and doing everything I once thought I couldn’t. Along the way, I learned about healing, recovery, and what it means to really feel good in your body. Massage became my way of sharing that knowledge. I trained under a teacher who saw massage as essential healthcare, not a luxury, and I carry that approach with me. In a chaotic world, offering someone even a few minutes of relief is incredibly rewarding. I meet people where they are, connect with who they feel they are inside, and try help them feel better at any age, and at any stage. So, I never expected to be a massage therapist—and I definitely never expected to turn into my Mom, who used to say she just wanted to “give the world a Coke.” But now I get it —and I’m grateful that Massage offers the same kind of "sweet relief" with a lot less sugar.
