Welcome to Rooted Willow Massage Studio, I'm Jen Bernshausen.  I've been a licensed massage therapist since October 2021 after graduating from the REN Institute of Massage Therapy.  

My interest in massage started in 2008, but got diverted when I pursued a career with Macaroni Grill on Ramstein AFB in Germany.  I spent 10 years there, working my way up to the GM position.  After that contact ended,  I decided that my passion was no longer in the food service industry. Using massage as a tool to manage my own stress, I researched schools in Nebraska. 

During my time in Germany,  my family relocated from Westminster, CO to Minden, NE. The cost of living in Colorado was not ideal for just myself and all things aligned when I found the REN Institute that was located in Kearney.  

After graduating, passing the MBLEX exam and getting my license I found my home at Avani Day Spa in Hastings. Since 2021, it's been a place of comfort,  growth and support by the amazing team of women that continue with that support as I transition into my own business.  

When I'm not providing services,  you'll find me at a wrestling meet for my nieces or nephew,  a concert of most any genre of music,  traveling, camping or just cuddled up with my cat Simon.
