Ecstatic Somatics is a business that helps to educate and inform people though the ecstatic process.  We use mindfulness, meditation and massage to help people live in greater balance with their lives.  According to the Merriam Webster dictionary:

Ecstatic has been used in our language since the late 16th century, it derives from the Greek verb existanai ("to put out of place"), which was used in a Greek phrase meaning "to drive someone out of his or her mind." In early use, ecstatic was sometimes linked to mystic trances, out-of-body experiences, and temporary madness. Today, however, it typically implies a state of enthusiastic excitement or intense happiness.  

As much as I believe that people can't solve many emotional and body issues with the mind, I resonate more with the second part of the definition- that it is a joy to fully inhabit our bodies, and with the right kind of awareness, the simple act of breathing can be ecstatic.  The question that made this business come into being is; how can we live with more enthusiasm and joy in our lives?  What can we do to embody these natural states of being with greater ease?
