I’m Spencer Walden, founder of Walden Bodywork, a mindful mobile massage practice rooted in deliberate living and deep restoration.
I grew up near Fort Wayne, Indiana, and after high school I worked as a welder, fabricator, and maintenance engineer. Life changed dramatically on the day I was crushed between a forklift and a concrete pole in a near-death accident. That moment forced me to confront my own body in a new way. I already practiced yoga, exercise, and energy work, but suddenly I had to get serious about healing or live with chronic pain. My wife Alyssa, a gifted massage therapist, worked on me during my recovery and completely shifted how I saw the power of touch. What I experienced wasn’t just relief—it was reconnection.
In 2020 we moved to Arizona. I walked into the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts and instantly knew I had found my path. The program blended therapeutic massage with Ayurveda, energy work, and holistic practices that honored the whole person. I graduated from the Professional Massage Practitioner Program in 2021 and made the decision to stop maintaining industrial machines and start maintaining human bodies instead. I realized the best way I could heal myself was by learning how to help others heal.
After 1.5 years at a boutique in North Scottsdale, we moved to Asheville, North Carolina. In June 2026 I am launching Walden Bodywork as a fully mobile practice. I bring the table, 100% cotton linens, and calm presence directly to your home or office.
Because I live with chronic injuries myself, I understand what it means to need real relief and long-term resilience. Every session is intentional—Swedish flow combined with targeted deep tissue, energy awareness, and breath work—so you leave not only feeling better, but more present in your own body. My goal is simple: help you slow down, reconnect, and live deliberately so you can show up fully in your life.
If you’re ready to restore deeply and feel at home in your body again, I’d be honored to work with you.
