I love what I do for a living and I feel blessed to call my time spent with clients, 'work'. One of the aspects I enjoy most are the interpersonal connections made through the healing art of bodywork. These connections are supported by my ability to listen to my clients' needs and wellness goals in order to integrate varying modalities of soft tissue work into each unique session.
I transitioned to the field of bodywork after spending my early twenties in a fast paced job doing resource development for non-profits. Though I enjoyed the go-go-go of the development world, I did not have a passion for the work itself. I felt as though some 'magic' was missing from my life and it was then that I decided I needed a change.
I began thinking about what I wanted to do, rather than what I thought I was supposed to do. I soon enrolled at the Integrated Massage Therapy College and began my journey into alternative health care. After graduating and earning my license to practice, I began working for a chiropractic office where I was able to learn tissue manipulation from a structural perspective. It was there that I decided to focus my continuing education on the medical side of therapeutic massage.
Upon moving back to the Pacific Northwest, I began working for a chiropractic office in Olympia, where I am currently still practicing. Then, after much encouragement from friends and loved ones, I opened my own practice, Cascade Health Massage.
I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about me and if you feel we would be a good fit for each other, I would welcome the opportunity to work with you.
Humbly,
Amanda Heppner, LMT
