Update for June 2025. After returning to Maine in early April, a few days after getting back, I fell in the snow while carrying my youngest grandson and broke my thumb! Ouch.
I got it pinned on Tax Day, and three weeks later my cast and pin were removed. Occupational therapy has been really helpful, and I continue to see my OT weekly, but I'm ready to practice and have found a place to practice!
Exciting news, Instead of using space at the other end of town in Springvale, I met with Sanford Massage & Wellness near the Sanford Airport, and have decided to join this collective !The owner Shellie has almost twenty years experience as an LMT and business owner, and has offered her guidance, for which I'm thankful.
So, as of Thursday June 19, 2025 I'm available in Sanford! Thursdays & Fridays 10am - 7pm and Saturdays 10am - 5pm.
Nearly across the street from Marc Motors Sanford, you'll find the Airport Plaza and Sanford Massage & Wellness. The space is calm, inviting and where I look forward to delivering high quality therapeutic massage annually from May thru November!

As of August 23, 2024 I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist in Maine. I started and finished the Massage Therapy program with Allied Career Training Institute in Sanford, where I reside half the year.
I am thrilled to be continuing my education, and finally finishing my college degree started in the late 80s, added to in the mid-90s. I then had this 30-year lull of motherhood and corporate work. I volunteered for my local towns and in leadership roles in my children's activities.
In June 2023, six months after returning from a 21-month leave of absence, my position was eliminated with TC Energy. My position throughout my employ, until my leave of absence/disability leave was Learning Managment System Analyst. I provided Corporate Training planning to meet PHMSA, OSHA & DOT requirements. I also supported the Operator Qualification Program for the company, training across the US, along with a couple corporate trips to Calgary & Houston.
Anyway, after I was corporately dismissed, I decided it was time to finally go back to school and become a Massage Therapist. A profession I've Enjoyed as a Client for decades!
After meeting with two other schools, I settled on ACTI. I had the support of a couple grant programs in the state, one being the Competitive Skills Scholarship Program, and the other was through Goodwill Northern New England. I also thankfully had an additional 20 weeks of unemployment (dislocated worker benefits) to help me get through the 8-month program (advertised as 6 but the schedule worked out to be 8).
