After raising a large family and spending over 25 years in nursing, I began exploring a "retirement" career in bodywork-initially drawn to trigger point therapy, where I thought my journey might end. During that training with Coaching the Body Institute, I learned that neuroscience now teaches that pain is always a protective output from the brain. We were taught how to engage the brain's neuroplasticity-it's remarkable ability to reset and rewire. Not long after, I experienced my own persistent pain pattern that along with other life events, prevented me from beginning work and prompted a deeper search. I began asking: If good therapies were not helping-or were not helping for long-where else could we look? That search led me to Microcurrent, Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM), and MELT Method self-care techniques and tools-including the newly released Fascia Hydrator, where I participated in an 8-week pilot study with exciting results. Most recently I trained in trauma-informed care which for me was like placing the final piece of a puzzle-revealing how everything I'd studied fits together. At Align Myofascial, I integrate these modalities to support pain resolution and nervous system regulation-helping your body shift form protection to healing. Self-care is taught in every session.
