I have been a LMBT since 2009. I've worked in various settings but really enjoy more structural work vs. a traditional "relaxation" massage.
In 2014 I opened Bodywork of Tallahassee LLC, primarily, because I wanted to create an environment and community that was part of a whole.
Overall, what I've seen in the medical community, is, lack. Lack of understanding on how massage or what I do, manual therapy is seen and thought about, treatments are considered a luxury or something done while only on vacation. This is where the problem starts. People freely give their power, time and money while sitting at home wondering why the prescription or the surgery didn't work.
There is certainly a place for both of those things; but only as an absolute last resort, not the first step.
Soft tissue of the body is a malleable construct that holds you together. It adapts, it changes; but only based on your habits and patterns. Most people that I see are suffering from the same issues, with small variables based on their level of daily activity. Lower back pain is the most common complaint that I get, and 9 times of out 10, it happens because the person sits all day at a desk for work and their posture suffers and pain will show up in the lumbar or thoracic sections of the back, also neck and shoulders.
My aim is to provide you with a foundation and understanding, show people how they can heal themselves and stop relying on services and products that aren't equipped with this knowledge. Its based on your nervous system, and what you feed it.
