About Me
Hi, I'm Robert Davis.
I'm a Florida Licensed Massage Therapist (licensed as Robert D. Gonzalez, MA61172), practicing at Massage Whiz LLC, 7600 Red Road, inside the Midas Touch Institute in South Miami. My work is manual Neuromuscular Therapy: hands-on massage that supports relief from muscle tension and ease of movement, with close attention to your posture patterns.
My approach to the body
I've been practicing massage since 2006 and have been licensed since 2010. One thing has become clear: the body works as an interconnected whole. Tension in one spot is often connected to posture, daily movement habits, and the demands of how you work, train, and live.
Every session starts with a conversation about your health history, daily routine, and goals. From there, I look at your posture and movement and build a plan of sessions around the patterns I observe.
I'm a licensed massage therapist, not a medical doctor. My focus is soft-tissue work and ease of movement, and I don't diagnose or treat medical conditions.
What clients say
"After the first massage I was able to turn my neck for the first time in 2 weeks. After that, each massage increased my mobility and decreased my pain dramatically... Robert is the best massage therapist I've ever had."
— Yelp review
"Robert's understanding of kinesiology and neuromuscular therapy is incredible. He pinpoints exact structural tension that other therapists miss, helping me get out of pain and back to moving freely."

How we work together
I draw from a mix of manual techniques:
- Neuromuscular and myofascia work: easing tension in soft tissue and connective fascia
- Trigger point work: working on tender spots and localized muscle tightness
- Muscle Energy Techniques: gentle, guided muscle contractions to support flexibility
- Active Isolated Stretching and dynamic movement: deliberate stretching to support range of motion
- Jumeiho Japanese massage: rhythmic pressure and flowing movement
- Pilates-based movement: as a certified Pilates instructor, I often finish sessions with simple exercises to reinforce good movement habits
Background and experience
I began in Marine Biology before choosing massage therapy. I trained in Tibetan Reiki, Jumeiho Japanese massage, sports massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, structural fascia release, and Vodder-style manual lymphatic drainage. Since 2010 I've worked as an independent licensed therapist, in clinic settings and at athletic events such as marathons, golf tournaments, and Iron-man competitions.
Beyond the practice
I was born in Cuba and made Miami my home in 2008. I'm a father of two daughters, and I love reading, learning, staying active, and good conversation. A saying from my grandmother guides me: "El saber no ocupa lugar," knowledge is no burden. It reminds me that every client and every pattern offers something to learn.
