Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Welcome to GRWL Performance Therapy. Below are answers to common questions regarding booking, session preparation, and our specialized performance and recovery treatments.
BOOKING & LOGISTICS
How do I book an appointment?
All appointments are booked directly online through our MassageBook portal. Simply select your desired service, choose an available date and time, and complete the digital intake form prior to your arrival.
What should I expect during my first visit?
Please arrive 5–10 minutes prior to your scheduled start time. Your initial appointment includes a brief consultation to review your health history, discuss your performance goals or pain areas, and perform a quick movement or range-of-motion assessment before starting table work.
What is your cancellation and late policy?
We request at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellations or rescheduling requests. Because your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you, late cancellations or non-attendances may be subject to a fee as outlined during checkout.
What should I wear to my appointment?
- For Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork: You will be draped comfortably and securely under a sheet and blanket at all times. Professional draping boundaries are strictly maintained.
- For Assisted Stretch & Mobility Sessions: Please wear comfortable, flexible athletic attire (e.g., gym shorts, leggings, t-shirt) that allows for full range of motion.
PERFORMANCE THERAPY & RECOVERY
How does Performance Therapy differ from a regular spa massage?
Performance Therapy is target-driven and functional. Rather than focusing solely on general relaxation, sessions integrate specialized techniques—including Clinical Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, and PNF stretching—to resolve muscle tension, restore range of motion, and optimize recovery.
Will deep tissue or neuromuscular work be painful?
Therapeutic bodywork can produce "good discomfort" when releasing stubborn trigger points or hypertonic tissue, but it should never feel sharp or unbearable. We maintain constant communication throughout the session to ensure pressure stays within your comfort level.
Can I schedule a session before or after a workout or game?
Yes. Pre-event sessions focus on dynamic, broad flushing to activate muscles and enhance joint mobility. Post-event sessions focus on easing soreness and calming the nervous system. Be sure to let us know where you are in your training schedule during intake.
Do you offer specialized foot and lower-leg therapy?
Yes. We offer targeted foot care and therapeutic hydrotherapy soaks through our sister-company PINK FINESSE LLC to refresh tired feet. If you have specific medical conditions affecting your feet or lower limbs, please note them on your digital intake form. You will receive a referral once indicated.
