My name is Monique Johnson and I have been a massage practitioner for over 19 years. I graduated towards the top of my class, and aced all of my classes. I have received extensive training in the anatomy and physiology, along with certification and training in over 18 different techniques. Including but not limited to lymphatic drainage, deep tissue, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation therapy, reflexology, hot stone therapy, pre & post natal massage, infant massage, trigger point work, acupressure, aromatherapy, shiatsu, basic swedish, pre & post sports, chakra cleansing, and polarity. A lot of my kinesiology knowledge comes from my background in ballet/dance. I studied for over 32 years, taught for 18 years, and trained professionally for 10. Unfortunately it was a severe leg injury that halted my continued training in dance. Having to spend two months in sports physical therapy that was attached to Ballet Met in Ohio, I received some of the best physical therapy out there. They taught me all about water therapy, the importance of using ice and heat, and including Pilates for strength building. My leg injury has helped me be a better therapist and because of it I have been able to help hundreds of clients heal from their injuries. I love what I do but most importantly it is my goal to always help my clients in every way possible. If I don't know the answer I will educate myself, make recommendations and or refer out. I do not know everything, I am not a doctor but I strive to be better every day.
Go on, be a good friend and share MassageBook with them. They'll love you for it.
