I'm a certified massage therapist with over 15 years of experience working out of Fairfield, California. My approach is deep tissue on a Swedish tip, with a sports feel appeal to it — pressure that gets into the tissue without leaving you feeling worked over.
I came to this work later than most. I spent a decade at the Oakland Museum of California before deciding, in 2007, that it was time for a change, and enrolled at the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville. The science behind what my hands already seemed to understand clicked almost immediately, and I've been doing this work ever since.
After graduating I joined Xavier Powell's Rock Solid Massage Therapy Team, working the sidelines of events like the Nike Women's Half-Marathon, the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, and Stair Climb America. Treating athletes pushing their bodies to the limit taught me to read movement patterns under load, and to recognize that the place that hurts is rarely the place that broke.
That idea shaped everything once I started studying Reposturing Dynamics under Aaron Parnell. A shoulder problem can be anchored in the opposite hip. A foot issue can trace back to the lower back. I stopped treating symptoms in isolation and started treating the whole structure, which is still how I work today.
If you're dealing with a stubborn pain pattern, recovering from training, or just need real pressure that actually holds up, I'd be glad to work with you. I take appointments by request rather than open online booking, so reach out and let's find a time that works.
