Mike Bareno brings nearly four decades of hands-on clinical experience to neuroheal's collaborative care model.

He began his healthcare career in 1986 as a Chiropractic Assistant at Sunrise Chiropractic in Fremont, California, where he served as the primary massage therapist for patient care under direct chiropractic mentorship. Although his formal massage education was delayed, that early foundation shaped a lifelong commitment to clinical excellence.

Mike went on to build a distinguished 22-year career in public service as a Paramedic, serving as a County Paramedic Preceptor, instructor of advanced medical programs, and Tactical Paramedic on a County Sheriff's SWAT team. His background in emergency medicine sharpened his skills in assessment, critical thinking, and working within interdisciplinary medical teams.

Mike continued to gain what he would later identify as valuable skills when he entered into work as a medical sales representative, helping physicians identify how to provide for the needs of their respiratory care patients.  Pulling from his emergency medical experience, providing truly critical products and services for patients with advanced Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) he was able to re-define his meaning of “sales.”

More than 35 years after first entering hands-on patient care, Mike completed his formal massage therapy education at the National Holistic Institute in Sacramento, earning:

• Core Massage Therapy Certification
• Advanced Neuromuscular Massage Therapy (ANMT) Certification
• Associate of Applied Science Degree
• Advanced Neuromuscular Massage Therapist & Medical Massage Clinician credentials

Today, Mike specializes in neuromuscular therapy, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release, utilizing a proprietary blend of foundational and advanced modalities tailored to each patient's clinical presentation.

In addition to his clinical work, Mike plays a key role in professional outreach, referral development, and collaborative promotion for neuroheal. Drawing on his extensive background in medical education and medical sales, he helps bridge the gap between massage therapy and the broader healthcare community.
