Born and raised on the Navajo Nation, my journey is rooted in the strength of my ancestors and a dedication to our people. In 2005, I moved to Phoenix with my mother and siblings to pursue education, yet my heart remained tied to the Rez. I rotated between the city and my homeland to care for my late grandfather, Franklin Morris Sr. (Naschitti/Fort Wingate, NM)—an Army National Guard Veteran, retired Navajo Nation Deputy Police Chief, and retired McKinley County Undersheriff.

The Red Running Into the Water People Clan, this is my grandfathers side. In this way, I am a Navajo woman. I am relearning the Navajo language. This is all I know about my clans for now.
